Last week, the Pier Head in Liverpool hosted this year’s Liverpool Loves festival. It kicked off on the Thursday with Liverpool loves Business and then there were lots more events over the Friday and Saturday including Liverpool Loves Culture and Liverpool Loves Food.
Rachel, our conference centre manager, attended the Liverpool Loves Business event on the Thursday to connect with other local businesses and pick up some tips. Due to the weather the event couldn’t be held in the Big Top as planned so the location moved to inside the Cunard Building. This turned out to be a brilliant setting as the building is really beautiful and a big part of Liverpool’s identity.
The day kicked off with a series of seminars from the likes of Agent Marketing, Social Enterprise Network, Liverpool Chamber of Commerce and The Women’s Organisation. The seminars all aimed to help businesses in areas such as marketing, growth and funding and there were stands giving out one to one advice and help sessions.
The event focused on creating connections between local businesses in order to build Liverpool’s economy and keep money and business within the region rather than pushing out to other parts of the country/world. All in all the day was a great success and we feel we got a lot out of it in terms of tips for growing our conference centre as well as the start of some promising relationships.
