Our conference team have been busy today preparing our conference centre for an event tomorrow with the Learning Development Bureau. We are expecting between 100 and 140 delegates so it’s been all systems go.
A lot of work goes into getting ready for a conference – especially one for so many people. We’re going to give you an insight into the things that have to be done…
First of all the room needs to be arranged to meet the needs of the client. This means taking into consideration the amount of people attending and the layout that they would like. We can accommodate up to 100 in cabaret style and 160 in theatre style so that’s a lot of chair moving!
The next thing we do is set up all of the equipment. We offer full use of our multimedia technology included in the price of room hire which includes a laptop, projector, microphone and flipchart. It’s important to check they all work prior to the event to avoid any last minute hiccups – it’s always handy to have spare batteries on standby as well just in case.
Most of our conference centre visitors require catering so the food order must be made several days in advance so it arrives in plenty of time. We like to make sure everything is looking spotless when our visitors arrive so we always make sure we polish the cutlery and have our cups and saucers lined up perfectly ready for a much needed cup of coffee to set delegates up for their busy day.
Here at Oakmere conference centre we think the little touches count too so we place fresh flowers in the centre of each table and make sure there’s a dedicated host on hand throughout the whole event.
Our conference centre team really do go the extra mile to make sure each and every event is a success. You can find out more about our conference packages here.
